Mill

The house's money room. Silk is what the house makes, what each unit costs, what it is carrying, and who is paid. Bolt is advertising: a round proposed with its reasons, an advert made, the artist's yes, a placement, a run, a landing, a stop. No artist sees this app. What they see lives in Studio and Merlin.

Silk

the sheets

Money in and money out. Every number derives from a visible input and every sheet reads as empty until something real has happened.

Bolt

advertising

Funded only from cleared profit. No sale is ever attributed to an advert. Nothing runs without the artist's yes, and their stop needs no approval.

The five things no room here may break
  1. The seventy thirty never moves. Not for traffic the artist brought, not for a sale that came through an advert, not ever.
  2. No sale is ever attributed to an advert. We do not measure it, we do not claim it, and no number in any room may be dressed up as one.
  3. Nothing runs without the artist's yes, and their stop takes effect on its own without our approval.
  4. The accrual is internal. The artist sees the receipt, never the pot math.
  5. One artist's traffic never sees another artist's work.

The Gate

May this piece be advertised at all. Six rules on every public piece and two or three more per channel, every verdict computed on the server from the real rows, never in this page.

← Mill Bolt

The Run

What is actually live, what the platform did to it, and how it comes down. Everything before this room decides whether an advert should exist. This is the only room where money is leaving.

Takes down every advert on every platform for every artist. Spend stops within the minute. Nothing is deleted.

The Landing

Every advert sends somebody somewhere. This room decides where, checks that the somewhere is still standing, and refuses to build a page to send them to. The Buy tests a destination once on the way out; every way it can break happens afterwards.

← Mill Bolt

The Buy

The only place in Mill where money leaves. Seven gates, every one answered by the server rather than this page, and the button stays dead until all seven are true. A gate a browser evaluates is a gate a browser can skip.

← Mill Silk

Payday

Money out. Who may be paid is a database trigger, not a checkbox: a payout to a payee with no verified current W-9 fails the insert. When they may be paid is the second trigger: an order still inside its return window cannot be settled. Pay on clear, not on ship.

The sheets

One ledger, one row per money event, and the three statements read off it. The income statement by the month a thing was earned, the balance sheet at today, and cash by the month it actually moved. The gap between the first and the last is the float, which under merchant of record is everywhere.

Keys

Who holds each advertising account, who pays for it, and who keeps it when an artist leaves. Nothing in Bolt can spend a dollar until a row here is green, and that last column is computed on every read rather than stored, because a saved verdict goes stale silently.

The Sitting

Everything the machine knows about an artist before it spends a dollar. Almost all of it we work out ourselves; the artist is asked one question, on one card, and it is optional.
